SHAPE Arkansas is challenging Kentucky PE teachers and schools to an epic Spring Break Mileage Showdown! Schools and PE programs will compete state vs. state and school vs. school to see who can log the most miles running, walking, or hiking on Strava.

📋 How to Participate
Register Your PE Class or School

Teachers register their PE classes or school as a team (choose "PE Challenge" at registration).

Students join their school team and log their miles to help their school rise in the rankings.
2️⃣ Track & Log Miles

Use a Garmin watch or the Strava app to track every mile of running, walking, or hiking.

Make sure your activity is set to “public” so it counts toward your school’s total.

Follow Chad Sanders (SHAPE Arkansas Executive Director) on Strava so we can verify your progress.

A Challenge Led by Experience
The SHAPE Arkansas Executive Director, Chad Sanders, is a highly experienced physical educator and track coach in Arkansas. With over 20 years of experience, he has taught physical education at all levels, hosted State Track Meets, and worked at the university level to develop future physical educators and coaches. His deep understanding of competition, program development, and athlete motivation makes him uniquely qualified to lead this initiative.
Adding a personal touch to the challenge, Chad is also the father of standout senior runner Owen Sanders of Little Rock Christian Academy, making this event even more meaningful to him.
